The Belgian who gets Korea talking about climate
Julian Quintart is a Belgian TV personality, DJ and climate communicator who has lived in Korea since 2004. Korean audiences know him from JTBC's Abnormal Summit, and he now appears every week on JTBC's Talkpawon 25 O'Clock. He works in Korean, French and English.
He has been an EU Goodwill Ambassador for Climate Action since 2016 and an ambassador for Korea's National Climate Crisis Response Commission since 2025. His work has earned the 2023 Korea Green Climate Award (Minister of Environment Prize), the 2024 Herald Eco Award grand prize and a 2025 Minister of Environment commendation for carbon-neutral action.
Julian gives more than 50 talks a year on the climate crisis, air pollution, plastic and food systems, for companies, universities and public institutions. For companies, he goes beyond “every small step counts”: his ESG talks show what a business can actually change in how it operates, often paired with a hands-on Climate Fresk workshop for employees. Since 2024 he has run more than 70 Climate Fresk workshops for over 1,000 people. As country lead for Climate Fresk Korea, and one of only seven Blue Belt facilitators in Asia, he now trains new facilitators.
He started out as a DJ, playing events for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Mercedes-Benz. He also lives what he talks about: vegan since 2021, trains and public transport for travel within Korea, clothes kept for years. He founded Nono Shop & Cafe, a zero-waste shop and vegan café near Namdaemun Market, and co-founded Volunteer Korea, which brings foreign residents and Koreans together for clean-ups and community projects.
