A chef bridging French and Korean flavors
Ko Hyo-il (Mathieu Moles) is the chef Korean viewers know as “Annyeong Bonjour” from Netflix's Culinary Class Wars Season 2. Born in Korea and raised in France, he cooks mostly classic French food, sometimes with Korean ingredients and sensibility, in a style guests describe as familiar yet new.
He trained at Grégoire Ferrandi Paris and worked at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (one Michelin star) and Le Jules Verne on the Eiffel Tower (two Michelin stars). He went on to key roles at The Shilla Seoul and Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, then led kitchens as head chef and executive chef in Dubai (One&Only The Palm; V Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton) and at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles.
In 2020 he opened his own place, Chez Nous Private Kitchen, and ran a one-table pop-up restaurant for Stella Artois with singer Sung Si-kyung. Chez Nous has been featured in the Michelin Guide every year since 2023, and since May 2023 he has been a brand ambassador for Président dairy.
His TV profile grew with the Julian episode of tvN's Passport Smashing in 2024 and then Culinary Class Wars. For food and lifestyle brands, he brings French technique and Korean roots to the same table.
